11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Student Ministry Building, Plano Campus
If you serve or have served in the Armed Forces, we would love to honor you in a special celebration! We want to thank you and show our gratitude with a free luncheon. This event is open only to active military and veterans. Honorees are welcome to bring a guest.
Guest Speaker Tim Lee
Tim Lee served in the U.S. Marine Corps in South Vietnam, where he lost both of his legs. Instead of being bitter, Tim has spent the past 40 years in active ministry as a fulltime evangelist. Additionally, he has addressed thousands of local churches, Christian schools, civic organizations, colleges and universities, and hundreds of special patriotic events, speaking about his passion for America.
“America is worth living for, worth fighting for, and if need be, worth dying for.” —Tim Lee
Special Guest Sam Johnson
We will honor former U.S. Representative Sam Johnson, who served the 3rd Congressional District of Texas 1991–2019, with a special service award. He began his political career serving in the Texas House of Representatives 1985–1991. Johnson is also a retired United States Air Force Colonel and was a decorated fighter pilot in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. In the latter, he was an American prisoner of war in North Vietnam for nearly seven years. He is the last Korean War veteran to serve in Congress.
