The Blessings of Sacrifice

Imagine a church with every member surrendered and yielded to Christ. What an amazing body of believers that would be. Through His grace, God has raised this church up and used it as a powerful tool to impact our culture for Jesus. He has responded to our every act of faith and obedience with blessings beyond measure.

This new journey in the life of Prestonwood will build on all that has gone before—reaching far beyond our city and our state and into every part of our nation and world. It will challenge us and test us. And as we cling to God’s will, He’ll fulfi ll the promises in the verses long claimed by this church, Ephesians 3:20-21: Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Our Prestonwood family has always been blessed through sacrificial giving for the work of Christ. It is like a revival in many ways because it leads us to deal with the issues of possessions and money and surrendering to God’s plan for His church—something above and beyond ourselves.

The $35 million required for the three milestones along this journey is not unattainable. By God’s grace, it is achievable. Through the power of prayer, belief, faith and obedience and in full dependence on the Lord, all things are possible. May we never limit God’s vision or the potential impact of His church.

Pray that the Lord would do a fresh work in our hearts— that we may never be content, that we may never hold back on what God can do through us and through Prestonwood. Let us give over-and-above our regular tithing. From the widow’s mite to the millionaire’s millions, we are called to give proportionately.

It will require sacrifice and surrender from all of us, so we pray that for the next three years, the Holy Spirit would move among us and enable us to accomplish God’s vision and our place in it. This is not a one-time giving opportunity, but an opportunity to change the way we live so that we may give to that which is eternal during the next three years.

We ask God to strengthen our faith, to instill in us a servant heart so we yield willingly to His sovereignty. Our Lord is able to do wondrous things through His people, if only we believe and obey.

Behold, I am Doing a New Thing – Do You Not Perceive It?

"We will delve deeply into prayer and a study on the Book of Acts to help us strengthen our quiet time with the Lord, so we can be certain that every decision we are making is based on His will."
Now comes the time for prayer, seeking the face of God to know His will for us.

We must ask, in the quietness of our hearts, in our intimate moments with the Lord, what our roles must be: “Lord, what do You wish to do through me to accomplish Your will in this place, if I am willing to be obedient and trust You?”

Over the coming weeks, we will delve deeply into prayer and a study on the Book of Acts to help us strengthen our quiet time with the Lord, so we can be certain that every decision we are making is based on His will.

For it is God who directs this work, and to Him belongs all the honor and glory.

The great danger for us is thinking that since we’ve accomplished so much as a church family, we can do it again. Our attitude must be completely dependent on the work of the Holy Spirit and the power of God and the ministry of Jesus Christ through His people.

The Bible provides us with many examples of lives lived in faith and obedience to the will of God, beginning with our Lord and Savior, but dating all the way back to Genesis and Abraham, the father of God’s people.

That is the kind of obedience God requires of us, a full trust in His vision, complete dedication to His will.

So, as we pray separately, and as we pray together, we will seek His will. As He guides us, we will work together and respond with visionary faith, extraordinary faith and obedience.

When that happens, the results will be absolutely clear. With God’s blessings, His will shall be done.

Don't Hold Back

In every great movement of God throughout the generations, there comes a need for a prayed-down vision and a people who would dare to believe God for the fulfillment of it.

Today, in the life of Prestonwood, this is where we find ourselves—on the brink of a new work of God that is multiplying and exponentially advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ here and to the world. This move of God is an invitation as well as an exhortation to take up our cross, deny self, and follow Christ. May we personalize this devotion, like the 1st Century Church to the apostles’ teaching, and may we pray that He would give us favor by adding to the number of those who are being saved.

This is a call to seek God; it is a call to ask God and allow Him to lead us and enable us personally to move Beyond All Limits in our walk with Him in fulfi llment of His purpose for our lives. Let us, together, believe that if we each do our God-given part—sacrificing, believing, and devoting ourselves, He will bless us exceedingly to be His church in this generation and in the generations to come. Don’t hold back. It’s not about us, it’s not about today ... it’s about living Beyond All Limits.

May we each prayerfully consider this invitation to be part of this movement of God that will impact our lives and generations to come for His glory.
