Online Ambassadors for Christ
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf; be reconciled to God. —2 Corinthians 5:20
Did you know that 25 percent of the world’s population is online and … searching for God? Literally, God and religion are among the top five searches on all search engines. A recent study by the research organization Barna Group estimates that 50 million people rely on the Internet for their religious experience.
I like Dr. Craig Von Buseck’s assessment in his recent book Net Casters: Using the Internet to Make Fishers of Men. “The Internet represents a convergence of media in one delivery mechanism—including video, print, telephone, video games, e-mail, social networks, blogs, and online television, audio and video phone.” That’s why PowerPoint Ministries is so vital. By leveraging the power of multimedia and web technologies, PowerPoint takes the biblical message of Christ’s hope and love beyond the Prestonwood pulpit. Literally, thousands across the globe at any given time are seeking direction and truth. And PowerPoint provides that for them.
We are careful to recognize that technology does not replace personal witnessing to friends, associates and neighbors. Technology should be used as a complement, a powerful tool to extend our reach as we continue to glorify God by introducing Jesus Christ as Lord to as many people as possible.
Locally, under the leadership of Joe Perry, our Minister of Missions & Evangelism, Prestonwood partners with Campus Crusade for Christ Global Media Outreach Online Missions. Through this online evangelism and discipleship ministry, believers can serve as an online ambassador and can reach the hurting, the hopeless and those who are genuinely seeking a relationship with Christ.
This partnership is an incredible tool to increase your influence for Christ! Training is easy, and we can reach a multitude of people with the Gospel. Won’t you prayerfully consider signing up for this outreach opportunity? Visit prestonwood.org/ccci for details, or call 972-820-5308. Registration cards are available in Bible Fellowships and on the Information Wall.
Mark your calendars for the training session on Saturday, Aug. 21, and become an online ambassador for Christ. Imagine the eternal impact if each of us shared our faith with 10 people!
