Rick Baty
Trumpet

Rick Baty is a first-year graduate student at Southern Methodist University. He is majoring in music performance with a specialty in trumpet. He received his undergraduate degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in music education.

Rick has been honored as student principal of the semi-professional Orchestra of the Pines, 2005 winner of the Stephen F. Austin Concerto Competition, 2006 Drum Corps International World Champion and 2006 Brass Ensemble Champion.

Rick’s faith has always been an integral part of his music as he constantly strives to glorify God through his chosen art. He has been a part of church services ranging in denomination from Roman Catholic to interdenominational.

Rick lives in Addison with his beautiful wife, Sarah, and their 4-month-old daughter, Rowan, along with a cat and dog.
