Christina Harvey
Violin/Viola

Inspired by her older sister, Christina Harvey began playing the violin in the fifth grade. In high school, she enjoyed leadership roles in one of Oklahoma's leading orchestras and in the Oklahoma Arts Institute. She has attended several summer music academies, including Aria International SMA and the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute.

Ms. Harvey received a bachelor's degree in violin performance from the University of Oklahoma, and a master's degree in music education from Southern Methodist University. Having studied with Felicia Moye and Ron Neal, both of whom studied with distinguished pedagogue Ivan Galamian, she is excited about passing on excellent skills to the next generation of violinists. She fell in love with teaching when she began seven years ago, and has taught beginner, intermediate and advanced violinists ages 5 to adult. Believing that her Lord Jesus has blessed her and desires that she bless others, she has a passion for passing on the gift of creating music through the violin.

Ms. Harvey has played multiple seasons with the Fort Smith Symphony, as well as concerts with faculty at the University of Oklahoma. She is now playing with the Las Colinas Symphony, and is a member of her church orchestra at Park Cities Baptist Church and the New Life Symphony Orchestra.
