Jenny Overgaard James
Voice
Jenny Overgaard James has been performing on stage since she was 8. From musical theater to opera, her roles have included Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd, the title role in Carmen and Lady Billows in Albert Herring. She recently performed Dorabella in Cosė fan tutte at the Festival Galuppi in Venice, Italy.
She has a bachelor of music degree from Simpson College under the direction of Robert L. Larsen in Indianola, Iowa, and is completing a master of music degree in vocal performance from the University of North Texas this spring under the vocal instruction of Lynn Eustis.
She discovered her love of teaching two years ago during a break in her performance schedule and will pursue a voice-teaching career full time after graduating from North Texas.
