Brian Magnus
Cello
Brian Magnus, a Carrollton native, began studying cello when he was 10. He studied privately with Jenny Ritter of Carrollton for four years before studying with Eugene Osadchy, cello professor at the University of North Texas.
Brian is currently working on his bachelor of music degree in cello performance at Southern Methodist University, studying with Christopher Adkins, principal cellist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Brian has spent summers pursuing musical excellence at music festivals such as Credo, the Encore School for Strings, the Indiana String Academy and the Heifetz International Music Institute.
He has taught privately at Polk Middle School in Carrollton for two years. He believes the ability to play music is a gift from God, one that must be developed and shared generously with others to glorify the Lord.
