One of our church’s greatest
blessings is our dynamic
Children’s Ministry. It is so
devoted to raising up the next
generation in faith and love of the Lord, that on any
given Sunday the hallways are crowded with parents,
children and strollers.
On a typical week, 5,000 children—from babies to
grade 6—fill every inch of available Bible Fellowship
space, and more and more young families are arriving
all the time.
“Why another building?” asks Sondra Saunders, Senior
Preschool/Children’s Minister. “How can we not?”
The Saunders Children’s Building will provide 18
additional classrooms that will give us space for 1,000
more children per weekend. It will also allow for event
space for AWANA students and office space for staff.
The building will also have space for special needs
members of our church. In the last two years, the
special-needs ministry has tripled in size. The need for
a safe and loving environment to serve these children
of God is overwhelming. It will bring them and their
families fully into the life of Prestonwood, helping
them grow in faith as fully participating members of
their church.
“God is definitely doing a new thing!” Sondra says. “I
don’t want to miss it for a moment and neither do I
want the kids at Prestonwood to miss it. These days are
exciting and spiritually challenging and great times of
spiritual growth for adults—but the truth is, it’s even
more exciting for our kids as we let them pray and be a
part of the ‘new thing.’”
