IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL PARENTS: scroll down for updates

Prestonwood kids and preteens are committed to “hiding God’s Word in their hearts” every week in AWANA Clubs at Prestonwood. Club meetings are held during the school year on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Registration is open each Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Atrium near the entrance to the Children’s Building.

The word AWANA is an acronym that stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.” It comes from 2 Timothy 2:15, where Paul encouraged Timothy to study God’s Word in order to show himself approved.

Our AWANA program offers five different Bible Club experiences for the age levels below. Each club uses a variety of age-appropriate activities that help preschoolers and students:

  • Memorize Scripture
  • Experience quality Bible teaching from master storytellers during Council Times
  • Participate in high-energy, fast-paced game time experiences in KidZone and Big City
  • Develop an awareness of mission projects locally and overseas that encourage participation and giving
  • Learn how to share their faith in Christ as Savior
  • Develop important relationships with friends and caring adults

Experiences in AWANA foster a deep commitment to Christ and a genuine love for God’s Word. Parents are asked to volunteer at least once a month by listening to verses that have been memorized.

AWANA Sparks’ handbooks teach basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, salvation and the Bible. A clear and consistent presentation of the Gospel message is made each week. The Bible is presented chronologically and details about Bible characters are told in captivating biographies. Students earn jewels to place in their aviator wings as they complete the three hand-books: HangGlider, WingRunner, and SkyStormer. They will memorize 65 verses within three years. Game Time offers team and individual competitions that are fast-paced and high-energy. The kids love this Game Time.

TNT (Truth and Training)AWANA TNT

Students Grades 3–6
AWANA TNT is designed to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him. The four handbooks are each built around eight different questions about God, the Bible, salvation and Christian living. Students memorize eight different Bible passages for each question. At the end of the four-year program, students will have memorized 310 Bible verses to receive the cherished Timothy Award (2 Timothy 2:15).
