Jana Bishop
Voice
Jana was born and raised a performer in Houston, Texas. From stage to vocal work, musicals and commercial recordings, God has blessed her life in many ways through music. After learning keyboard and cello, her discovery of vocal music and stage captivated her life. She soon discovered the passion of the story of Christ in word and song, so she dedicated her time to the study of vocal music. After graduating from high school, she traveled the United States, performing with Life Action Ministries in multimedia presentations and music ministry. She graduated from Texas Tech University with a vocal performance degree in 2000. While attending Texas Tech, Jana was given the opportunity to sing with many current Broadway and opera stars. She has enjoyed roles in Once Upon a Mattress, Porgy and Bess, Gianni Schicchi, Iolanthe and many other secular performing opportunities. She also appeared as a soloist in a once-in-a-lifetime recording of historic Jewish music through Sony and the Milliken Foundation.
Now serving as part of the Worship Ministry of Prestonwood, Jana’s full-time passion remains worshipping and helping others reach their full potential in Christ. With more than 15 years of teaching experience in both the Garcia and Alexander methods, training voices—both young and experienced—is not just a passion, but a calling.
