Neverending Challenges
Everlasting Rewards
|
|
As we celebrate our blessings, we
must look forward to growth within
ourselves and the community.
Isn’t it amazing to think of the blessings poured out on
Prestonwood over all these years? Isn’t it rewarding to revel in the
eternal implication of thousands of saved lives, the precious bonds
of fellowship that have been forged through good times and bad,
the heart of ministries that reaches out to the community in word
and deed, and the promise of future generations committed to
knowing Christ and making Him known?
Yet even with all that we have and all that we’ve done, there
is more. Our work for the Lord is never complete.
With that in mind, I praise the Lord for showing us which
way to go. I’m thankful that we have His Word and the Holy
Spirit to guide us in the way everlasting. In this issue, you’ll see
the vision behind our plans to expand in order to enhance our
current facilities and take the Gospel even further for the glory
of God. You will also read about evangelistic opportunities for
fellowship and service this summer.
The 90 Days of Blessing, following the Global Day of Prayer
on June 4, will deliver hope through the building of homes, the
distribution of Bibles and several ongoing service projects. On
our grounds, Prestonwood Sports Organization will lead athletic
camps that exist not only to teach the skills of the game, but
also to share the Good News.
Colossians 3:14 tells us that love binds noble virtues together
in perfect unity. God desires that believers be unified in the body
of Christ. Only when we recognize and emulate the love He has
shown us are we able to be truly effective in ministry. While we
consider how to serve, may our prayers be from sincere hearts,
may our faithfulness match our desire, and may the result
be evidence of a heart marked by God’s love.
