A year ago, this journey began
with a grand vision and a faithful
group of volunteers dedicated to
carrying God’s Word into their
northern neighborhoods.
Now, as we celebrate the One Year
Anniversary of Prestonwood North,
it’s amazing to see the awesome power
of our Lord at work in this region.
Our church family has reached out to the community in the U.S.
Highway 380 Corridor, and in turn, those cities have embraced
our church. Hundreds now call Prestonwood North home, many
have come to know Christ, and dozens have been baptized.
“Prestonwood North has exceeded all expectations,” Pastor Jack
Graham said. “It’s been a great blessing to witness people come
together as a committed community of believers so quickly, so
naturally and so intently focused on sharing the love of Christ in
that region.”
It has been 17 months since Pastor Graham unveiled plans for the
expansion of ministry through our North Campus. Since then,
we’ve gathered each Sunday at Prosper High School, building a
sanctuary in the gymnasium, and meeting for Bible Fellowship
in the school’s classrooms. And, now, we look forward to moving
into our permanent home on 140 acres off Prosper Trail.
“I believe we are standing on the soil of a great future harvest,’”
said Teaching Pastor David McKinley, who is overseeing the North
Campus. “Our task is great but our faith and commitment are equally
great. Our prayer is that every member of our church family will
support Prestonwood North through encouragement and prayer.”
As we look back at how the Lord led us to this sun-swept land in
Prosper, it’s clear to see that He has an incredible plan in the works for
Prestonwood North to draw even more thirsty souls to His streams
in the desert. His work is not finished and neither is ours. Purely and
unmistakably, the favor of an all-powerful God continues to pour
down on His faithful church.
Nine months ago, Prestonwood
set out on the journey of faith
we call Beyond All Limits. And in
consecutive months, we celebrated
the groundbreaking for the
North Campus and the Saunders
Children’s Building. Now we
take the next step, a process that
transforms our abilities to reach the
world for Christ, whether in our
own worship centers or in some
far-off corner.
Prestonwood has a global perspective as well
as a local vision,” said Pastor Jack Graham.
“Not only will media aid our global outreach,
but it will enhance our worship here, too.”
With a high-definition television signal and
image amplification, our link between Plano
and Prosper will truly affirm that we are one
church in two locations.
“Beyond All Limits allows us the ability to
have a state-of-the-art connection from our
pulpit to the world,” said Scott Seal, Executive
Director of PowerPoint Ministries.
Currently, PowerPoint reaches a half million
people worldwide each week.
“Media is a great instrument by which we can
fulfill our mission statement of glorifying God
by ‘introducing Jesus Christ as Lord to as many
people as possible and to develop them in
Christian living using the most effective means
to impact the world,’” Scott said.
Through the faithful giving of our people,
Prestonwood is just reaching the point
technologically where it should have been
eight years ago, he said. “It was like trying to
win Wimbledon with a wooden racket.”
In August, we broke ground on a new media
area to be located in what was Lower Level 2.
It will house a technology control center with
a studio, editing bays, a fulfillment center for
dispensing ministry packages, and some office
space.
As we take each new step of faith, it’s
important to look back, too, to gauge how
far we’ve come and where we must go, Pastor
Graham said.
