MissionFIELDS
are next door and across the globe

When Christians speak of the “mission fields,” the image
that comes to mind is some far-off land where courageous and
committed workers bring the Good News of salvation to people
who have never before heard the name of Jesus Christ.
Certainly Prestonwood has a rich history of work in other
countries on distant continents, in Africa and South America
and Europe. The world needs to hear of Our Lord’s saving
grace and His great sacrifice for our sins.
But while we see snapshots of thatched villages and barren
barrios, Jesus presents a much broader picture of “missions.”
In His final words to the disciples, in Acts 1:8, He describes
the mission fields in just a few words, but in a command
that encompasses every living being.
“You will be my witnesses,” He said, “in Jerusalem and in
all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
At Prestonwood, we send our people into Africa and up
the Amazon. We send them to Boston and New York and New
Orleans. And through H.I.S. BridgeBuilders and City Missions,
we send them to Turner Courts in South Dallas and to nearby
apartment complexes, where many hunger for God’s Word.
We can be “on mission” in our own neighborhoods, in our
offices, our schools, even in our church.
From its earliest days, Prestonwood has been on mission—
reaching out to nonbelievers and seekers and showing God’s
truth and the witness of His love in our lives.
Beyond All Limits furthers that commitment. As Our Lord
explains in John 4:35, the need is all around us. “Look, I tell
you, life up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for
harvest.”
So we’re “on mission” in Prosper, at our North Campus,
where hundreds of our people take the Good News to their
neighbors in the fast growing Highway 380 corridor.
We’re “on mission” in Plano, too, where our Children’s
Ministry, the finest in the country, draws hundreds of young
families to church and to Christ.
It’s easy to limit ourselves through our own humanity. But
ours is a God without limits. And His work is before us.
