Missions is not an unfamiliar concept for Prestonwood children
and students.
Through AWANA and Vacation Bible School, children
learn early the importance of reaching the world for
Christ. As they grow, they have the opportunity to
travel to the ends of the earth with the church and
Prestonwood Christian Academy. We are blessed by the
boldness of this young generation and its commitment
to sharing the Gospel.
In May, more than 200 students participated in
Decision Counselor Training to prepare them for 94.9
KLTY Interstate Batteries Celebrate Freedom ™ 2007
missions Featuring Luis Palau on June 29-30. The training helped equip students
not only for the local event, but also for the High School Choir mission
trip to San Diego, Calif., and Tijuana, Mexico, in July.
Rick Briscoe, Associate Minister of Music and Worship, believes the
hands-on-experience at Celebrate Freedom just days before departing
for San Diego will be invaluable for the students.
“They will have the opportunity to get in the ‘spiritual zone’ as decision
counselors at Celebrate Freedom,” Rick said. “This will fire them up and
make them ready, willing and able to express their faith with those they
will meet after concerts and outreach events in the greater San Diego
area and Tijuana.”
Eighteen-year-old Eric Nuff looks forward to both opportunities.
“I believe Celebrate Freedom will be good practice for me to witness
to people knowing that God is moving in the person I am talking to
and that He is using me as His tool,” Eric said. “It is an awesome feeling to
know that the Creator of the universe is on your side!”
