When it came to Bible Fellowship, Jeff and Becky Leach say
they were a “fringe couple” for the first seven months of their
marriage. And then one day they realized that something
was missing, both personally and in their marriage.
“We weren’t getting the spiritual ‘food’ that we needed
and certainly not serving the church as we as Christians
are called to do,” Becky said. “So we committed to attend
every single thing our (Bible Fellowship) class had for one
whole month.”
Jeff and Becky renewed friendships, strengthened their
faith, and discovered the blessings of service and “living
intentionally”—a common saying in the Young Married
Ministry.
Minister to Young Marrieds Chris Kouba believes that
by living intentionally, building authentic relationships,
and giving your life away, one can experience a passionate
walk with Christ and touch lives for eternity.
“We’re trying to fight the mentality that we’re the selfish
generation by doing everything we can to give our life
away and being intentional to build relationships with
other people to introduce them to Christ,” Chris said.
Fueled by the biblical teaching and authentic relationshipbuilding
they experience in Bible Fellowship, Young
Marrieds are showing the love of Christ as they go into the
community—whether it’s offering water bottles to festival goers
at Addison Oktoberfest or grilling hamburgers for
teachers at local high schools.
Justin and Joanna McCord testify that they’re closer now
as a couple because of the things God has taught them at
Prestonwood.
“We share with one another more openly about the
spiritual feasts and droughts that God has taken us
through individually,” Justin said, “ultimately, deepening
our relationship with one another.”
